Transfer/Transient Students

A Transfer student is a student entering for the first time and who is known to have previously attended another college or university at the undergraduate level and intends to complete a degree/certificate at Laredo College.

A Transient student is a student entering for the first time and who is known to have previously attended another college or university at the undergraduate level and does not intend to complete a degree/certificate at Laredo College.

Transfer and Transient applicants are required to submit the following supporting documentation to the Admissions Office, as applicable:

  • An official college transcript from each post-secondary institution previously attended. (If coursework is in progress at the time of submission, an updated official transcript reflecting all completed coursework must be submitted.)
  • Additional supporting documentation as required by the Admissions office for admission or verification purposes.

Applicants who are on academic warning or academic suspension at another college or university are subject to the same conditions applied to Laredo College students who are on academic warning or academic suspension status and may be required to submit an appeal to the Advising Center.

Applicants who are on disciplinary suspension from another college or university may not be admitted to Laredo College until the period of the disciplinary suspension has expired at the other college or university.

Students admitted while under scholastic disciplinary conditions from another college or university will be reported to the Director of Student Discipline/Title IX Coordinator for record keeping purposes.

Note: Transfer/Transient students who earned their degrees internationally may require an evaluation by the American Association of Collegiate Registrar and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) for equivalency purposes. Laredo College reserves the right to accept or reject the results of the evaluation completed by the professional agency. Students who completed their studies in a country where English is not the native language will be required to submit proof of English Proficiency. International students will be required to submit additional supporting documentation, see International Student.
