Nursing

Now is an opportune time to pursue a career in nursing. With an aging population requiring advanced care, the demand for qualified nursing professionals is critical. This field offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and high job satisfaction. At Laredo College, students can obtain a Level II Certification in Vocational Nursing (VN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) through either the Two-Year Program or the ADN Transition Program. Notably, Laredo College’s ADN program was recognized as the top nursing program in Texas for 2024 by an online resource (https://www.registerednursing.org/state/texas/).

Additionally, Laredo College offers an online Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for students who have completed an ADN. This is 10.5-month 100% online program that focuses on developing leadership skills and emphasize the evaluation and application of nursing research, community health, and the use of informatics in healthcare. Graduates will be prepared to practice in advanced healthcare settings, appreciate the importance of evidence-based practice (EBP) and lifelong learning, and pursue advanced practice degree programs.

The VN, ADN, and BSN programs are fully approved by the Texas Board of Nursing, located at 1801 Congress Avenue, Suite 10-200, Austin, Texas 78701.

The ADN and BSN programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), located at 3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, Georgia 30326, (404) 975-5000, www.acenursing.org.
