Admissions

General Policy

Laredo College maintains an open admissions policy, which ensures all students have an opportunity to pursue higher education and enroll in courses. Laredo College is an equal access, equal opportunity organization.

Students seeking admission to Laredo College are required to submit an electronic admissions application via ApplyTexas and supporting documentation.

Any former students wishing to return to Laredo College after a break in enrollment of 12 months or more are required to complete a new electronic admissions application via ApplyTexas and may be required to submit supporting documentation.

Supporting documentation may include the most updated official high school transcript or a copy of the students' General Education Development (GED) certificate of completion for information verification purposes. All students who are not high school graduates or do not possess a GED equivalent may be admitted under individual approval restricted admissions. Students admitted under 'Individual Approval Restricted Admissions' are encouraged to enroll concurrently in the High School Equivalent program.

At Laredo College, admission to the institution does not guarantee admission to a particular program. Some programs may have a secondary admissions policy that includes prerequisites, examinations, criminal background checks, and/or additional requirements.

Students who wish to register for courses at Laredo College must first be admitted to the institution. Programs with secondary admissions policies may also require admissions to their program prior to registration.
