Drugs, Alcohol and Other Substances
Laredo College prohibits students from using, possessing, distributing, or being under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances on campus, in college vehicles, or at college events. The possession and use of controlled substances, such as marijuana, narcotics, and other mood-altering drugs, are strictly banned, along with the sale of substances falsely represented as drugs. The use of drug paraphernalia is also prohibited. Students who violate this policy may face serious disciplinary actions, including counseling, suspension, expulsion, or legal prosecution. All students taking classes for credit will receive information on this policy, the legal consequences of drug and alcohol use, the health risks involved, and available support services. Students seeking help with substance abuse can contact Laredo College Counseling Services at 956-721-5151 or email counseling@laredo.edu for confidential assistance and support.
