Developmental/Corequisite Courses

Laredo College offers a range of developmental coursework, including online coursework, or instructional support that includes the integration of technology to efficiently address the particular developmental needs of it's students. Using a corequisite model under which a student concurrently enrolls in a developmental education course and a freshman-level course in the same subject area for each subject area for which the student is referred to developmental coursework.

The following policy mandated by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board applies to all developmental courses: Students who do not meet one or more of the established benchmarks of the TSI assessment are required to immediately enroll in a developmental course(s) in at least one of the areas not satisfied. Students must register for college-level courses while enrolled in a co-requisite developmental course.

The Provost/Vice-President of Academic Affairs or designee must approve developmental courses/programs.
