The Associate of Applied Science degree in Homeland Security Studies will create a foundational understanding of Homeland Security and its core mission of protecting the nation while simultaneously ensuring safe and efficient travel and commerce. This program will help prepare students for future employment while creating an understanding of the various occupational elements contained within the homeland security career field. Specifically, this program will help prepare students for a career in homeland security, emergency management, homeland security related investigations, homeland security intelligence, or any of the multiple administrative support positions needed to continue the homeland security mission.
Admission Requirements
- Apply for Admissions to Laredo College and must be accepted (click here for more information )
- Student will need to setup an appointment to meet with a Homeland Security Studies advisor by calling (956) 721-5832 or going by Ft. McIntosh Campus, Memorial Building Rm. 146.
- Student will be given the Homeland Security Studies Program application during the initial meeting with the advisor.
- Application must be completed and emailed to homelandsecurity@laredo.edu.
- Student will meet with advisors.
Advisors will review the applicant's background, interests, and career goals to ensure alignment with the rigorous expectations of the program. This evaluation helps ensure that students are fully prepared to embrace the challenging responsibilities of a homeland security career.
Applicants will receive guidance from advisors on whether the program aligns with their aspirations and skills, further enhancing their potential for success in the field.
