(This is part of a series of courses designed to prepare students for a career in the fire service as an entry-level firefighter. Successful completion of all requirements in each of these courses, as well as any requirements specified by the state of Texas, will allow students to take the Structural Firefighter Certification examination administered by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP). (This course is designed to develop firefighters understanding of mechanical principles of fire pumps and their controls, principles of water and water systems, intake and discharge hydraulics, fire stream production, relay pumping operations, care and maintenance of pumper apparatus, and troubleshooting.)
