One in a series of courses in basic preparation for a new firefighter. Should be taken in conjunction with Firefighter Certification II, III, IV, V, VI, and VII to satisfy the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) curriculum for Basic Structural Fire Suppression, Course #100. (This is part of a series of courses designed to prepare students for a career in the fire service as an entry-level firefighter. Successful completion of all requirements in each of these courses, as well as any requirements specified by the state of Texas, will allow students to take the Structural Firefighter Certification examination administered by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP). This course is comprised of classroom education and hands-on training.)

(This course is designed to develop firefighters understanding of mechanical principles of fire pumps and their controls, principles of water and water systems, intake and discharge hydraulics, fire stream production, relay pumping operations, care and maintenance of pumper apparatus, and troubleshooting.)
