COMM 0373 Fundamentals of Reading 3 Credit Hours (3 Lec)
This course is designed to help students obtain basic reading skills in comprehension, rate, flexibility, selectivity and vocabulary development.
Prerequisite: A COMPASS score of 10-50 or 6.0-8.4 on the Nelson Denny local placement exam.
COMM 0374 Fundamentals of Writing 3 Credit Hours (3 Lec)
Students in this course learn the basic stages of the writing process to produce well-constructed, gramatically acceptable narrative, descriptive and process analysis paragraphs. Reading and writing asignments are complementary. Formal attention is given to basic grammatical and mechanical problems.
COMM 2366 Introduction to Film 3 Credit Hours (3 Lec)
Emphasis on the analysis of the visual and aural aspects of selected motion pictures, dramatic aspects of narrative films, and historical growth and sociological effect of film as art. (cross-listed with DRAM 2366)
Prerequisites: 12.0 reading level and eligibility for English 1301
