An exploration of guidance strategies for promoting prosocial behaviors with individual and groups of children. Emphasis on positive guidance principles and techniques, family involvement and cultural influences. Spring only. Prerequisite: Capstone course to be taken during freshman year second semester and CDEC1454/TECA 1354. Corequisite: Course must be taken concurrently with CDEC 2187.

A continuation of the study of the requirements for the Child Development Associate Credential (CDA). The six functional areas of study include safe, healthy, learning environment, self, social and guidance. Prerequisite: Must be a teacher or a teacher aide/assistant employed in an approved Child Care Center.
